GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Lower Merion 3, Boyertown 1

Highlights: The Aces knocked off the Bears in four sets (25-15, 25-19, 24-26, 25-13) on Saturday in on-league action.

Adrianna Derstine (17 kills, 7 digs), Allie Pioli (7 kills, 7 digs), Carly Little (9 kills), Grace Rinehimer (36 assists, 4 digs) and Emma Smith (8 digs) were standouts for Boyertown.

Boyertown 3, Bishop Shanahan 1

Higlights: Adrianna Derstine tallied 19 kills, 6 digs and 5 aces to reach 1,000 kills in Saturday’s non-league win.

The Bears split their two non-league games Saturday, knocking off Shanahan in four sets (25-21, 26-24, 13-26, 25-18).

Carly Little (15 kills, 3 blocks), Emma Smith (14 digs), Allie Pioli (14 digs, 5 kills) and Grace Rinehimer (34 assists, 6 digs).

Upper Merion 3, Abington 0

Highlights: The Vikings swept the Ghosts, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25, in the last game on their home court. Upper Merion finished with a 248-28 record in 28 years on its home floor, includinga 32-5 record in District 1 playoff matches.

Freshman Sophia Schweikert slammed down 31 kills while defensive counterpart, Vanessa Hutchinson, had 24 digs. Hutchinson also served 14 points (4 aces). Caitlyn Daywalt dished 34 assists, while Julia Giammarco filled the stat sheet with nine service points (three aces), five kills and eight digs.

Friday’s Games

Upper Dublin 3, Upper Merion 2

Highlights: The Cardinals edged the Vikings in five sets (25-16, 18-25, 14-25, 26-24, 15-11) in non-league action Friday.

Personal season highs were reached by Raven Albrecht in digs with 16, Sydney Bright with 12 kills, Caitlyn Daywalt with 45 assists and Julia Giammarco with 21 digs.

GIRLS SOCCER

Methacton 9, Norristown 0

Highlights: Ruby Murray’s hat trick paved the way for the Warriors in Saturday’s PAC Liberty win. Kirsten O’Brien netted her 10th goal of the season to join Aubrey Beaugard in double figures for the season. It’s the first time since 2006 Methacton has two players score 10 or more goals in the same season.

Goals: MT – Ruby Murray 3 (PK), Aubrey Beaugard, Kendall Ricca, Kirsten O’Brien, Mia Chan, Alina Miao, Lizzie McNichol.

Assists: MT – Sarah Kenwood 2, Katie Rozinsky 2, Kendall Ricca, Marisa Tommarello.

Downingtown East 3, Boyertown 1

Highlights: Caroline McDonald netted a pair of goals and Madison Shumake one to down the Bears in non-league action Saturday.

Harper Glennon tallied the lone goal for the Bears.

Exeter 5, Daniel Boone 2

Highlights: Anna Buckwalter’s two-goal showing was the bright spot for the Blazers in Saturday’s Berks League game with the Eagles.

Exeter had seven players involved in its scoring, Julianna Minner leading the way with two goals.

Highlights: The Rams finished the game with three straight goals to overcome the Vikings in Saturday’s PaC Liberty game.
