Delco Roundup: Graham’s goal lifts Episcopal boys soccer in double overtime

Sam Graham came through in the clutch for the Episcopal Academy boys soccer team Tuesday.

Graham scored on a pass from Flynn Kearney to give the Churchmen a 2-1 double overtime win over Springside Chestnut Hill Academy.

Milo Michalczewski tallied in the first half for Episcopal (10-7-1, 4-5 Inter-Ac). Goalie Akira Health notched four saves.

Girls Soccer

A four-goal outburst in the second half propelled Episcopal Academy to a 5-0 rout of Academy of Notre Dame.

Quinn Whitaker posted a goal in each half and added an assist for the Churchwomen (11-4-1, 6-4-1 Inter-Ac). Kate Dente chipped in a goal and an assist, while Maya Bright and Alexa Capozzoli each found the back of the net. Goalie Maya Naimoli stopped all six shots she faced between the pipes.

Volleyball

Margo Kemp and Megan Dougherty combined for 24 kills as Academy of Dame defeated Perkiomen School, 3-0, in the PAISAA semifinal round. The set scores were 26-11, 25-18, 25-23.

Katia Hemphill and Ava Kelly provided crisp passing and solid defense, totaling 18 digs.

The Irish look to win their eighth consecutive PAISSA championship Friday.

Field Hockey

Isabella Carlino and Caroline Chisholm recorded two goals each in Agnes Irwin’s 5-1 Inter-Ac League victory over Penn Charter.

Lauren Derone also had a goal for the Owls.

Episcopal Academy 6, Notre Dame 0 >> Olivia Corrato and Macy Szukics paced the Churchwomen with two goals each. Ashley Sessa and Mia Garber both had a goal and an assist.

Water Polo

Ryan Brewington, Bram Schork, Jake LaRocca, Luke Sekulic and Max Marr all scored two goals as The Haverford School defeated Germantown Academy, 16-10.

Schork added two assists, five steals and four draw ejections. Sekulic finished with three assists, four steals and two draw ejections.
